It was a successful weekend for New Zealand driver Jacob Douglas as he finished top ten in both USF2000 races in Toronto.
Race one on Saturday saw Douglas show improvement on the previous races he’s competed in throughout this season by scoring a fifth place finish.
The Christchurch native said he “wanted a bit more [better result] but we’ll take it” with regard to his performance.
Come race two, he had another chance to improve. Although he ended up crossing the line in seventh, two top ten results shows the Kiwi is improving out on track.
This is his fifth top ten placement in the last seven rounds.
Fellow Kiwi USF2000 driver Billy Frazer didn’t quite have the same luck considering he finished race one in 13th after starting from the back of the grid.
It didn’t go his way in race two either, with him retiring after making contact with another driver on the fifth lap. Despite this, Frazer currently sits fifth in the 2022 championship with Douglas in 12th.
In conjunction with with the NTT IndyCar Series, we next join the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship on September 2 to 4 for a triple header at Portland International Raceway.
